Jeff Fields – Consultant / Founder
Jeff is a seasoned public safety professional with more than two decades of experience across local and federal law enforcement, investigations, and organizational risk management.
He is a former Senior Special Agent and Program Manager with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, where he led and supported complex investigations involving fraud, waste, abuse, employee misconduct, and high-level personnel across a workforce exceeding 400,000 employees. His work included sensitive, often high-visibility cases involving civil rights concerns, corruption, and operational risk, including matters reviewed at the Congressional level.
Jeff later served as a Postal Inspector (Criminal Investigator) with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, where he investigated federal crimes including business and consumer fraud, identity theft, elder abuse, workplace violence, and organized fraud schemes operating both domestically and internationally.
His earlier career includes service as a police officer, SWAT officer, narcotics agent, detective, and DEA task force officer along the southwest border, where he worked cases involving drug trafficking, pharmaceutical diversion, and crimes against children.
Jeff also has proven experience working within K–12 school environments, where he has led campus safety initiatives, supported emergency planning, and worked as part of a multidisciplinary Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management (BTAM) process. His work has focused on evaluating concerning behavior, assessing risk, and helping school leadership teams make sound, defensible decisions.
In addition, Jeff has experience developing and strengthening safety and preparedness protocols within church and faith-based environments. He has worked with leadership teams to improve access control, emergency planning, volunteer awareness, and overall readiness in a way that is both practical and aligned with the mission and culture of the organization.
Jeff has conducted physical security assessments on government and government-contracted facilities, evaluating access control, procedural effectiveness, and response posture. His work has included both proactive assessments and post-incident reviews, providing clear, actionable recommendations to strengthen safety and operational readiness.
He is a certified Active Shooter Response Instructor through the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) and has advanced training in executive protection, investigative interviewing, workplace violence prevention, and procurement fraud.
Jeff is also the author of Sober from Sin: A Law Enforcement Veteran’s Journey to Unraveling Addiction and Faith, where he shares his personal story of recovery and transformation.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Safety Administration from Grand Canyon University and has been recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow.
